Workshops will be tailored to fit different levels of dancers and are designed with diverse learning needs in mind. If you’ve not had any Brazilian classes or any partner dancing experience, you can still participate in our workshops. There are introduction classes and ‘for all levels’ workshops. You don’t need a partner to register for any workshop.

Speaker: Newton Moraes

Newton Moraels, the first Brazilian dance professional to open a dance company in Toronto, Canada will speak about the paths that have let to his success. His company is currently celebrating their 15th anniversary. The obstacles and strategies that Moraels will share are invaluable to anyone in pursuit of living a successful life filled with passion.

“Capoeiras and the Capuera”

Speaker: Mestre Marcio Mendes

The purpose of the talk is to clarify aspects of the history of capuêra from its earliest records, its evolution over time and its current situation, as well as the different styles in different regions of Brazil. The information is based on historical documentation and research of renowned historians of capuêra. Finally Marcio will talk about his vision of capuêra, based on more than two decades of experience in the field. Learn more
